Dear Jade, I've been taking a photography class at a local YMCA. One day I went into class late and my teacher came over and told me that he didn't think that I'd would come, but he was happy that I came. Okay, I am a bit attracted him, so I might be looking into his comment more than I should, but was he hitting on me or just being nice? Curious K HE SAID: Dear Curious K: Photography is as easy as it is difficult. Even for seasoned photographers, there are many technical details involved when trying to compose a shot. Equally as tricky is the instructor’s comment. His comment could have been sarcastic or a nonchalant statement that his class will not be canceled due to lack of student enrollment. If you sensed his vibes, others in the class probably sensed them also. If the two of you are into each other, the appropriate thing to do is to have a one-on-one session beyond the class setting. Until you figure out what to do, keep your focus on the course materials. Perhaps something will develop! |

SHE SAID: Girl, if you are interested in your teacher, then go for it. It's a class at a YMCA, not like "real" school with strict rules and ethics. Seriously, the comments can go either way. He could be saying that to be nice but the only way to find out if he's into you is just wait until he makes another move. In the meantime, focus on your work! BUT MAMA SAID: It could have been a little of both. Why not find out by talking with him some more? There's no harm in flirting a little bit. If he flirts back, then you can decide how to proceed from there. |
