We always want to look amazing, but even more so when the holidays roll around. We spoke with Laramie Glen for some tips and tricks to making yourself look good that much easier. Laramie is a make-up artist and also the founder of Book Your Look , where you can find and book top make-up artists and hairstylists.
Is there an "it" color for this holiday season?
Definitely. It's all about warm tones; peaches, walnuts, espresso, emerald, and scarlet - you want to make sure you don't go too cool or have blue undertones this winter - otherwise you will look too sallow!
What are easy ways to transform your look from day to night if you don't have time to go home?
My favorite trick is adding a lip - during the day, I like to keep my lips hydrated with cocoa butter chapstick. At the end of the day if I'm meeting friends, I just grab Cruella Lip Pencil from Nars and fill in my brows with Anastasia Brow Pencil in Soft Brown and I look ready-to-go.
What are some things to consider when applying make-up for those who wear glasses vs. those who don't?
If you wear glasses, the good news if you get to skip the undereye concealer, but you must make sure your lashes are curled, mascara is applied (let dry before you put on your glasses) and above all - the brows must be maintained.
Is glitter make-up okay to wear to an office holiday party?
Glitter is ALWAYS okay! It doesn't have to be a tacky , silvery blue glitter eye; a modern way to wear it is to use a burgundy or eggplant glitter liquid liner for a way to bring attention to your eyes.
Is there one make-up mistake you see over and over again that is easy to fix?
Ladies, please blend - this is the number one thing I see - if you think your eyeshadow is blended already but you can see a clear place where it ends and where another color begins; take a clean soft eyeshadow brush and blend over that line 10-15 times. Your makeup will look softer and more youthful.
